Application : Coconut sugar cubes act as natural sweeteners. It has to be pounded, processed into powder form, or melted with little water in a saucepan that would create a syrup-like liquid. Coconut sugar cubes are lighter in taste unlike normal sugar and can be found in Horeca products as a sweet sauce, ideal for ice cream, filling and decoration such as teriyaki sauce, sweet soy sauce (kicap manis), and cream flavour in confectionery products.

Coconut sugar (sometimes referred to as coco sugar, coconut palm sugar, coco sap sugar, or coconut blossom sugar) is a palm sugar made from the sap of the coconut palm’s flower bud stem.

The Kithul palm (Caryota urens), Palmyra palm, date palm, sugar date palm, sago palm, or sugar palm are all used to make palm sugar.

Coconut sugar, which is used as a sweetener in many nations, offers no nutritional or health advantages over other sweeteners. Coconut sugar is available in a variety of forms, including crystals, granules, blocks, and liquids. Coconut sugar is made in a two-step procedure. It starts with harvesting or “tapping” the flower bud stem of a coconut tree. Farmers make a cut on the spadix and the sap starts to flow from the cut into bamboo containers. The sap collected is then transferred into large woks and placed over moderate heat to evaporate the moisture content of the sap. The sap is translucent and is about 80% water.
